A few weeks ago I got the opportunity to work on an article in the magazine 'ruimte en wonen' (space and living). With 3 fellow members of Lab Responsible Mobility we wrote a piece about the inevitable transition to a less car-centric transportation system. By showing how a less car-centric system is better for every user, even the car lovers, this vision of the future tries to appeal to all members of society. The current political climate doesn't seem to embrace the transition to sustainable transport, and for good reasons. When most efforts to promote sustainability (electric cars, higher gas prices) seem to be only work for those who can afford it, social concerns trump the sustainability concerns. At Lab Responsible Mobility we believe both concerns can be answered together.

Finally, the new website of Slim naar Antwerpen is launched. Very happy and proud of the innovations we've been able to create:- integration of the mobility map into the routeplanner providing even more information to the user- more data integrations (+20 extra data layers)- more realtime data- improved visualisations of the map depending on the mode you choose.- a dedicated accessibility map and information- a widget that makes it possible for other parties to integrate the route planner in their own applications and websites (example on the Studio Hyperdrive website: https://lnkd.in/epECREx2).- more backend flexibilityAnd all of that on top of one of the only truly intermodal/multimodal route planners that not only works on a city level but for the whole of Belgium and the Netherlands (and technically scaleable to an even bigger region). Even after some very intense months with a pixel-level focus on every aspect of the website, the improvements still make me smile. A very big shoutout to everybody who helped to make it possible, especially 2 #WonderWomen in mobility Silke Lamoen and Emilie Couwenberg, the #GreyMen Wim Stalpaert and Michiel Penne, #TheFlash Niels Bril & Christophe Van Meerbeeck and many, many more#slimnaarantwerpen #SmartWaystoAntwerp #routeplanning #multimodal #innovation #MaaS

Since moving from Russia to the Netherlands in 2022, I've experienced many changes. One exciting aspectis the high quality of life here, especially for the elderly. In the Netherlands, men live on average 30 years 😮 longer than in Russia, and the quality of life for the elderly is remarkable. In my opinion, of course 😅 This difference in quality of life became even more apparent during my visit to Huka 🚲 last week for a Smart Factory presentation. Huka's dedication to creating bicycles that enable almost everyone to enjoy cycling is inspiring! See below for a perfect example of how innovation and care can significantly impact lives. I look forward to working together to make Huka's production process even more efficient and traceable, ensuring they continue to deliver exceptional products that enhance the quality of life. #ElderlyCare #SmartFactory #Huka 🚲 #Innovation #Efficiency #QualityOfLife

🔌 Telraam is one of the data sources for Traffic Scout, the low-threshold and intuitive traffic model developed by .Traffic Scout has only been launched for a year but is doing very well. Meanwhile, several cities and municipalities are using it. It fills the void between microsimulations and macroscopic models and is a very truthful tool for origin-destination insights (much more reliable than floating car data) and simulations of new traffic measures.By using this, local authorities can avoid expensive test runs.#trafficmodel #trafficmanagement #trafficanalysis
