Operation HOPPER II – a new joint effort of Europol and several countries to disrupt the online propaganda activities of religious and politically motivated terrorist organizations across the ideological spectrum. It included the Islamic State, al-Qaeda and its affiliates and Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham.13 websites have been referred for removal, following the seizure of 4 servers in Romania, Ukraine and Iceland. In order to strengthen the cooperation and information exchange in the field of cybersecurity, the European Supervisory Authorities - European Banking Authority (EBA), European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) and European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) – signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). The MoU covers aspects related to tasks of mutual interest, policy implementation, incident reporting and oversight of critical Information Communication Technology (ICT) third-party providers. A large-scale drug trafficking network, moving cocaine from South America to EU, took a major hit from Europol’s Operational Taskforce. It’s been a three years investigation, that culminated in a final internationally operation, bringing together authorities from Belgium, Brazil, Croatia, Germany, Italy, Serbia, Spain, Türkiye and UAE.
